If your favorite strategy is “walk toward them and make their armor disappear,” you're going to like this Star.
Clan Heavy Stars are built around armor, concentrated firepower, and brutal engagements. Rather than relying on speed and maneuverability, these machines excel at controlling the battlefield through sheer threat. Get into position, pick a target, and punish anything that gets too close. The Clan Invasion rules describe Heavy Stars as line formations intended to close with the enemy while using armor and mass to sustain their firepower.
That makes this a particularly fun choice for players who enjoy aggressive, straightforward tactics and watching enormous guns solve enormous problems.
Painting Difficulty
Difficulty: Easy–Intermediate (2.5/5)
These are excellent miniatures for learning to paint BattleTech. The models have large armor panels, pronounced mechanical details, and plenty of opportunities for simple washes and drybrushing to create convincing depth. Hobbyists also report that the pronounced armor joints and crevices make the models particularly satisfying to paint.
Want something quick? Basecoat, wash, drybrush, and you're ready for the table. Want to go further? These big machines give you plenty of surface area for Clan colors, unit markings, weathering, and battle damage.
Flavor
The Inner Sphere learned to fear the Clans because of machines like these. When a Stone Rhino enters the battlefield, subtlety has already left the building.
